BEVERLY, MA - Endicott College set three individual records and a team record to get past Bowdoin College, 3-1, in a non-conference match Tuesday night.
The Polar Bears (10-10) got the best of the Gulls (14-8, 7-1 CCC) in the first game (30-25) but Endicott's record-setting duo of sophomore setter Meghan Hall (Santa Cruz, CA/Aptos) and junior middle hitter Sara Moore (Guilford, CT/Guilford) helped the hosts rattle off wins in the next three games (30-24, 30-28, 30-23).
Hall handed out 54 assists in the win, breaking the school's four-game record for assists, while Moore's 24 kills eclipsed the school record for kills in a match. Moore also picked up 28 points, a new school record as well. Moreover, the team's 64 kills set a new standard in a four-game match.
"Hall and Moore were the difference," said head coach Tim Byram. "They were really on tonight and our other players complimented them well."
The other players Byram was referring to were senior outside hitter Killeen Ross (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake), freshman libero Brittany Nolan (Monroe, CT/Masuk) and freshman outside hitter Kaylee Krom (Strasburg, CO/Strasburg). Ross (2 blocks) and Krom each recorded a double-double (Ross: 14 digs, 12 kills; Krom: 12 kills, 11 digs) while Nolan added 15 digs and three aces. Moore also had three blocks.
The Gulls take on Rhode Island College Thursday night (7:00 pm) before hosting Wheaton and WNEC on Homecoming Weekend (Saturday).
