CCC Athletes of the Week Release

BEVERLY, Mass. – For her efforts in the team's 1-0-1 week that saw the team tie Babson 2-2 and defeat Eastern Nazarene 6-0, freshman forward Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.) was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 11.

Elkas continued her strong start to her collegiate career, tallying four point in the two matches on the week. In the team's 2-2 draw against Babson, the freshman assisted on what would be the tying goal in the 23^rd minute. She then scored her second career goal in the 29^th minute of the team's 6-0 win over Eastern Nazarene before then assisting on the team's next goal less than two minutes later. Elkas is now tied for second on the team in goals with two, assists with two and points with six.

The women return to action tomorrow night when they play host to NEWMAC foe Wellesley at 7:00 p.m. at Hempstead Stadium. This is the start of five consecutive home matches for the Gulls.
