Pernice Named to NSCAA DIII Women’s All-New England First Team

2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Women's All-New England Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Women's All-Region teams were announced on Tuesday, and Endicott's Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) was named to the All-New England First Team. The honor is the first of Pernice's young career as she is now eligible for NSCAA Division III All-America honors that will be released in the coming weeks.

The sophomore becomes the first to earn the distinction since Caitlin Peters '13 did so following the 2012 season. A midfielder, Pernice had a breakout season in 2016 after her strong freshman campaign last year. The second year player led the Gulls to a 13-4-2 record on the season while registering 25 points with 10 goals and five assists. Her 10 goals and the 25 points led the team while her five assists were second on the roster. A model of consistency, Pernice was one seven women to play in all nineteen matches in 2016, while she was just one of four to start in all 19.

Pernice's NSCAA All-Region honor is the 22nd in program history, 19 of which have come under 12th year head coach Jodi Kenyon. She is just the fifth woman to earn First Team honors in Endicott history, joining Peters, Caitlyn Flynn '10, Sarah Miller '09, and Shannon Corliss '00 on that list.
