Endicott Drops 2-0 Decision to Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team fell to Wentworth 2-0 on the road on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Gulls fall to 11-3-2 (6-2-0 CCC) on the season while Wentworth improves to 12-3-2 (7-0-1 CCC).

The Gulls struggled offensively, recording just four shots on goal for the match, and 12 shots total. Wentworth held a slight edge in both categories, posting six shots on goal and 13 total shots. 

Both teams saw their keepers post four saves on the match, while Endicott earned four corners to Wentworth's two. The Gulls finished with 14 fouls while the Leopards had 12 go against them.

Both Wentworth goals came in the first half, first in the 20th minute and then in the 34th, as neither team could score in the second.

BEYOND THE BOX

  • Paige Pratt (Topsfield, Mass.) led the offensive effort, posting two shots, both of which were on goal.
  • Sophomore Sharlotte Pernice (West Springfield, Mass.) finished with five shots in the setback.
  • Caroline Armbruster (Stowe, Vt.) made four saves on the six shots she faced as her record is now 11-3-1. 

FOR THE FOES

  • Senior Mary Annon (Concord, N.H.) posted a three point day, scoring her second goal of the season and recording her fifth assist of the campaign. Her goal would prove to be the eventual game-winner, her first of the season.
  • Amanda Weinberger (Colchester, Conn.) scored the second goal of the match, her eighth of the season. The senior now has 18 points on the season.
  • Keeper Micaela Robinson (Goshen, N.Y.) made four saves in the victory to lift her record to 7-2-2. The shutout was her sixth of the season.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Gulls have one final regular season match remaining as they will travel across town to Gordon on Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. start. Wentworth will travel to Biddeford, Maine to take on UNE at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
