Boxscore

Beverly, Mass – Junior \#Colleen Pepin\# (Fairhaven, Mass) tallied three goals and an assist to power the Endicott women's soccer team past Salve Regina, 6-2, at Endicott Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Underclassmen stole the show on senior day, accounting for all six goals to push the Gulls to 12-5-1 overall and 10-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) play. The Seahawks stall at 9-8 overall and 7-5 in the conference.

Leading 1-0 at the break, the Endicott offense exploded for five second-half goals on its way to the victory. Eight players recorded points for the Gulls including two seniors, \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) and \#Kayla Corbett\# (Danvers, Mass.), who were honored alongside three classmates prior to the game.

Pepin opened the scoring early after the Gulls earned a corner kick in the 2nd minute. Defender \#Christine Silva\# (Stoneham, Mass.) received a short corner and played a long cross into the center of the box. Salve Regina's defense attempt to catch Pepin offsides backfired as the junior forward was left wide open and finished inside the left post.

The Seahawks were peppered for 10 first-half shots but kept the score close thanks in part to six saves by goalkeeper Jessica Lane (Marshfield, Mass.).

The Gulls also struck quickly in the second half, doubling their lead just 1:43 into the second frame on a goal by \#Chelsea Garlock\# (Meriden, Conn.). Pepin beat a defender down the right wing and played a low cross across the box to Garlock, who deposited a right-footed shot inside the far post.

Pepin struck again exactly four minutes later to put the Blue and Green on top 3-0. \#Caitlin Peters\# (Salem, N.H.) came forward for a free kick from 30 yards out and hit Pepin for her second goal of the day.

Salve Regina trimmed the deficit to two after \#Kaitlyn Birrell\# (Hope, R.I.) tapped in her own rebound in the 55th minute. The goal was the 18th of the season for the sophomore forward, the benchmark in the conference.

In the 66th minute, Pepin scored her third and final goal of the day on a feed from senior midfielder Karyn Plante to put the Gulls on top 4-1.

Sophomore forward \#Micaela Hogan\# (Salisbury, Mass.) made it 5-1 in the 75th minute after flicking a Garlock corner kick on goal that skipped into the back of the net.

The Seahawks answered two minutes later, capitalizing on a set piece. Maggie Kane (Bangor, Maine) clanged a free kick from 30 yards out off the post and Caitlin Eastwood (Seymour, Conn.) cleaned up in the middle to make it 5-2.

Freshman \#Alexandra Dussi\# (Boxford, Mass.) capped the scoring in the 87th minute after taking a feed from Corbett on the right wing.

The Gulls held a considerable advantage in shots at 24-12. \#Natalie Wyrsch\# (Dover, N.H.) made three stops to pick up her 12th win of the year. Lane recorded seven saves in just over 75 minutes of action. Freshman Emily DaSilva (Danbury, Conn.) made one stop after entering the game in the 76th minute.

\#Victoria Hunt\# (Cumberland, R.I.), \#Kayla Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) and \#Sarah Johnson\# (Harrisville, R.I.) were also recognized on senior day for their contributions to Endicott Athletics.

Endicott hosts New England College on Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the final game of the regular season. Salve Regina hosts Gordon on the same day at 3:30 in its final game of the regular season.
