Corbett, the TCCC Offensive Player of the Week, scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over Colby-Sawyer last Thursday evening in New London, N.H. The midfielder collected a loose ball and sent her shot past the Chargers keeper to maintain Endicott’s undefeated conference record. Two nights later, as part of Homecoming Weekend, the Gulls handed Anna Maria a 6-0 loss thanks to some nifty passing from Corbett. Corbett found teammate Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) for a wide open goal in the 4th minute to put the Gulls up 1-0 and followed just over eight minutes later with a redirected header off a corner kick to an open Chelsea Garlock (Meriden, Conn.). Corbett now has five goals and two assists on the season for 12 points.
Hunt, the TCCC Defensive Player of the Week, squashed opposing forwards’ efforts to shoot on goal as Colby-Sawyer and Anna Maria combined for just four shots, one on goal, in the two games. In the match against Anna Maria, Hunt was able to play up with the offense for much of the second half and had her hand in the scoring as the senior recorded two assists. Her first assist came off a free kick that found Vanessa Caruccio (Winthrop, Mass.) for a goal-scoring header. Her second assist was a cross that found Kayla Plante (Sanford, Maine) in the box for the game’s fifth goal.
Endicott is now 8-2-1 (6-0 TCCC) and the team is currently riding a six-game win-streak heading into their next match against Gordon College. That match will be played at 3:30 pm on October 5 in Wenham, Mass.
