Emily Record Named Head Women's Rugby Coach

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott Athletics and Recreation Department has announced the hiring of Emily Record as the new women's rugby head coach for the 2016-17 academic year. As head coach, Record will look to build on Endicott's success both in 7's tournaments, as well as on the 15's side.

Record comes to Endicott after spending the 2015-16 at West Virginia University serving as both Assistant Women's Rugby Coach and Men's Rugby Skill Coach. As a player and coach, Record has been involved with rugby since 2001. As a player she was involved in collegiate women's rugby while attending Drexel University. Following her time at Drexel, Record played with mid-­Atlantic select side teams having the opportunity to tour with Atlantis while also being invited to USA Sevens camps.

In 2009, Record joined the University of Pennsylvania women's program and served as their head coach in 2012. During that time, Penn joined the Ivy League in 2013, and qualified for the American College Rugby Association round of 16 that year. Penn placed fifth in the Ivy League Tournament in 2014.

In addition to coaching rugby, Record has extensive experience in the discipline of strength and conditioning. As a CrossFit and Strongman coach, Record has worked with numerous athletes in the areas of injury prevention and body mechanics.

Record holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Drexel University as well as a Master's of Science in Computer Engineering from Drexel University. Additionally, Record holds a CrossFit Level 1 certification, USA Rugby Level 1 and 2 certification, a NSCA­CPT certification, and OPEX CCP Level 1 cortication.
