Women’s Rugby Places 13th Overall At NSCRO 7’s National Championships

CHESWICK, Pa. – The Endicott club women's rugby team finished in 13th place overall at the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 7's National Championships over the weekend. 

In pool play, the Gulls opened up the tournament with a 39-5 win over Neumann before falling to Colgate, 22-7, and Simpson, 17-15. Endicott bounced back on day two, however, with wins over California University (Penn.), 29-5), and Albright, 20-7, to capture 13th place overall out of 16 teams. 

Samantha Hontas (Lee, Mass.) highlighted play for Endicott as the junior wing/fullback was named to the NSCRO 7's National Championships All-Tournament Team. Hontas scored six tries over the weekend, and also played exceptional defense to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. 

Endicott's season comes to a close at 22-9-1 overall.
