Gulls Ease Past Plymouth State, 50-21

BEVERLY, Mass.  – In its fifth match of the 2016-2017 season, the Endicott women's club rugby team defeated Commonwealth Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) opponent Plymouth State 50-21. The Gulls move to a perfect 5-0 on the season as they prepare to take on Western Connecticut on October 22nd.

The Gulls jumped out early on the Panthers with a try in the opening minutes of play. The Gulls carried the momentum through the first half of play with a balanced offensive attack and an aggressive style of defense. Endicott entered the half with a 24-7 lead.

"We played hard for 60 minutes both offensively and defensively," said Endicott assistant coach Sierra Kenkel. "On the defensive side of the ball we were aggressive and, offensively, we were able to use the entire field. That was our focus throughout the week of practice and it showed in the way we played today."

"We are very happy with our performance today," added Endicott junior Reagan Cerci (Easton, Mass.). "Our spacing was a huge part of the win today and we did a great job supporting one another."

Cerci led the way offensively for the Gulls with 3 tries.

Endicott will return on action on Saturday, October 22nd when they travel to Western Connecticut State University.
