Erin McCarthy Claims Second Straight CCC Rookie of the Week Nod

CCC Athletes of the Week (Week Ending April 12, 2015)

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) released their weekly awards on Monday morning and freshman Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.) was tabbed as the women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. Endicott went 2-0 in their two CCC contests last week claiming victories over Nichols and University of New England. Endicott sits at 8-4 (4-1 CCC) as she head into the second to last week of the regular season.

Freshman Erin McCarthy posted another strong week for the Gulls as she helped guide them to a 2-0 CCC week. In the tight 12-11 victory on the road at UNE the attacker tallied two goals including a game changing goal in the second half that started a three-goal scoring spree for the Gulls to never trail for the remainder of the game. In the 13-10 triumph at home with the Bison, McCarthy scored two goals on just two shots while earning one caused turnover. McCarthy boasts an impressive shot on goal percentage (86.4) so far this season and during this week went a perfect 100%.

McCarthy and the Gulls will look ahead to this week where they will travel to Gordon on Tuesday, April 14th for a CCC matchup at 4:00 p.m. before traveling to CCC rival, Western New England on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. draw. Endicott will host the final game of the regular season on Wednesday, April 22nd for a CCC game with Curry at 7:00 p.m.
