CCC Athletes of the Week (Week Ending April 5, 2015)

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released their weekly awards and freshman Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.) was tabbed as the CCC women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week. Last week the Gulls went 1-1 improving to 6-4 (2-1 CCC) as they look ahead to Wednesday, April 8^th as they hit the road UNE for a CCC matchup starting at 4:00 p.m.

Last week McCarthy posted a strong week for the Blue and Green as she earned a career/game-high four goals in the 21-2 victory over CCC opponent Wentworth. In the game the freshman attacker highlighted the day with three consecutive goals in a four minute span in the first half. McCarthy only ripped four shots in the contest and all four found the back of the net. In the tough road loss to #7 Bowdoin the rookie scored while recording one caused turnover and one groundball.
