Men’s Tennis Takes Down Gordon on Senior Day, 5-4

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team defeated crosstown rival Gordon, 5-4, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) battle on Sunday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.

Prior to the match, Julian Richtarich (Naples, Fla.) was honored for his contributions to the program and the Endicott community in a Senior Day ceremony.

The Gulls captured a 2-1 advantage after doubles flights.

No. 3 George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.) / Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took a strong 8-3 victory, while No. 1 Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) / Antonio Marsallo (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) registered a highly competitive 8-6 triumph.

In singles, Hudson De Risi (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) at No. 6 and Danes at No. 3 supplied 6-0, 6-2, and 6-1, 6-2 wins, respectively. 

The match came down to a clutch performance courtesy of Oliver Pope (South Dartmouth, Mass.) ignited by scores of 7(7)-5(3), 2-6, 7(7)-5(4) at the No. 4 slot to extend the Gulls winning streak to five straight.

Endicott (9-7, 5-2 CCC) visits Bates on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 PM. Gordon (7-9, 4-3 CCC) will compete in the CCC Tournament beginning on Saturday, April 27.
