CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 2 Endicott Visits No. 1 UNE This Saturday For Conference Crown (1 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. — The second-seeded Endicott field hockey team travels to top-seeded University of New England (UNE) on Saturday, November 5 for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship at 1 PM. Here's a preview of Saturday's title bout on Blue Bolt Field. 

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Gulls are 19-17 in the all-time series versus the Nor'Easters, which includes Endicott falling to UNE in the regular season meeting between the two programs this year, 1-0 (10/22/21).
  • UNE swept conference play (6-0) in the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed in this year's tournament.
  • Either Endicott or UNE has been involved in the last 11 CCC Championship games dating back to 2010. In that span, they have faced off against each other six times.
  • The last time these teams clashed in the title game on 11/6/21, Endicott edged UNE, 1-0, in 2OT to even the championship series between the two rivals, 3-3.
  • Meaghan Hogan (Chesire, Conn.), Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.), and Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) enter the championship matchup as the top three goal scorers in the CCC with 19, 13, and 13, respectively. 

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of Saturday's contest will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.
