Field Hockey Stymies Western New England, 4-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Western New England, 4-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.

Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.), Natalia Correia (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.), and Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) all registered tallies in the victory.

Lampasona gave the Gulls a quick 1-0 lead just 3:23 into the contest, while Correia, Dengler, and Swanson all scored in the second half (36:56, 40:21, 59:24).

In goal, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) made two saves to improve to 11-2 on the season (sixth shutout).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 25-6 all-time against Western New England (nine straight victories in the series dating back to 9/30/17).
  • The Gulls have won 11 games in a row dating back to September 10.
  • Correia netted the first score of her collegiate career. 
  • Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) set up the final goal of the game to push her CCC-leading point total to 39 on the season (15g, 9a, leads CCC in both categories).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (12-2, 4-0 CCC) travels to the University of New England on Saturday, October 22 at 12 PM. Western New England (6-5, 2-2 CCC) visits Mount Holyoke on Thursday, October 20 at 7 PM.
