Field Hockey Upends Nichols On Senior Day, 10-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott field hockey team routed Nichols, 10-1, on Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at North Field. 

Prior to the game, seniors Claire Boncek (Hamden, Conn.)Janet Dickens (Merrimac, Mass.)Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.)Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.), and Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) were all honored for their contributions to the field hockey program and the Endicott College community.

As for the contest, the Gulls soared to a stifling victory behind a hat trick from Hogan.

Endicott also saw Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) score twice while Dickens, Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.), Lemay, Lampasona, and Jenna Seibold (Reading, Mass.) all found the back of the net once. 

In goal, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) improved her record to 13-4 over 30 minutes of action. Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) closed out the final 30 with two saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott earned its 25th win in the all-time series against Nichols (25-4, 14 straight victories). 
  • Hogan notched the second hat trick of her colligate career. 
  • The Blue and Green have scored 10 or more goals twice this season (10-1 vs Salve Regina, 10/2/2022). 
  • The Gulls have won 11 or more games 18 times in program history (currently 14-4 overall). 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-4, 5-1 CCC) will host Western New England in the CCC Semifinals on Thursday, November 3 (time TBD). Nichols' season ends at 5-13, 1-5 CCC.
