Endicott Shuts Out Southern Me. 4-0

GORHAM, Maine  — The Endicott field hockey team defeated the University of Southern Maine, 4-0, in non-conference action on Thursday night at Hannaford Field.  

The Gulls were able to tally two goals in the first, one in the second, and one in the fourth in the victory to improve to 13-4 on the season.

Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) got the scoring underway with her fourth of the season as Meaghan Hogan (Cheshire, Conn.) found the sophomore at the 13:33 mark. Hogan would then notch her 16th of the season just under a minute late as she made the score 2-0 at the 14:25 mark of the first. 

The visitors would extend the lead to 3-0 when Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) scored the 10th goal of her freshman campaign in the second. The last tally came in the fourth when Olivia Lampasona (Watertown, Mass.) took a Rachael Lemay (Westminster, Mass.) feed at the 52:26 mark for her 12th of the year.

Meanwhile, Brianna Anslow (Clifton Park, N.Y.) recorded a single save in net for the Gulls as she posted her seventh shutout and improved to 12-4 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 2-0 in the all-time series versus Southern Me.
  • The Gulls out-shot the Huskies 27-7 on the night and held an 18-4 edge in penalty corners. 
  • The Gulls are 6-3 away from The Nest this season. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-4) hosts Nichols for its Senior Day, and the regular-season finale on Saturday, October 29 at 1 PM. Southern Maine (13-7) concluded its regular season and will compete in LEC Tournament.
