  • Allen Selected for USA Field Hockey High Performance New England Region Squad
    May 12, 2015
    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) of the Endicott field hockey team is one of 28 players that have been selected to participate in the USA Field Hockey High Performance Training Center for the New England Region. Allen is the only Division III student-athlete on the Northeast squad and will be training with a roster comprised of Division I student-athletes.
  • NCAA DIII Week: Gulls Explore the Amazon

    BEVERLY, Mass.- With the NCAA celebrating its annual “DIII Week” this week, Endicott has chosen to highlight multiple student-athletes and explore how the NCAA Division IIII model has enabled them to make the most of their college experience. “Discover, Develop, Dedicate,” the “three D’s” of NCAA Division III. They provide an abbreviated summary of why student-athletes choose the NCAA Division III model to perform at their highest capabilities both in the classroom and in intercollegiate competition. For this piece, we had the pleasure of speaking with two student-athletes, Morgan Bresnahan and Tyler Willgoos, that traveled to Peru and the Amazon as part of their Tropical Ecology class over January break. Bresnahan, a member of Endicott’s field hockey team, and Willgoos, a member of the men’s volleyball team, shared stories about their experiences and let us know how this opportunity has enriched Endicott’s experiential learning philosophy.

    CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has released their annual Division III National Academic Squad for the 2014 season. 13 members of the field hockey team along with the team as a whole have been honored for their dedication not only on the field but more importantly in the classroom.
  • Forty-Six Endicott Student-Athletes Named Fall 2014 CCC Academic All-Conference

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their Fall 2014 Academic All-Conference Team and Endicott was the leader of the pack with 47 honorees across seven first semester sports that included men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and women’s volleyball.
  • Sawchuck, Allen and Leary Named 2014 ECAC DIII New England All-Stars

    DANBURY, Conn.- For the first time in program history, the Endicott field hockey team has placed three players on the ECAC Division III New England All-Star Teams. Seniors Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) and Meghan Leary (Hampton Falls, N.H.) were joined by junior Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) as the program's first ever ECAC All-Stars. For all three players, the honors add to an already historic season that saw the trio also receive NFCHA All-New England East and All-CCC honors.
  • Sawchuck Earns NFHCA First Team All-American Honors; Becomes First Player in Program History to be Recognized on All-American List

    CHANDLER, Ariz. – Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) of the Endicott field hockey team made program history on Monday morning as she earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) First Team All-American honors. Sawchuck has become the first player in program history to garner this major recognition. The Longstreth/NFHCA All-American list is voted on by a committee of Division III field hockey coaches. The senior was in the running for All-American status after being named to the NFHCA New England East First Team All-Region team back on November 17th.
  • Four Gulls Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors

    CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has release the 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region teams and four members of the Endicott field hockey team have been recognized. The only other time four members have been chosen in program history was back in the 2011 season. Endicott finished their season as a 2014 CCC Finalist while holding an impressive 16-5 overall record while consistently being ranked in the New England East Region.
  • Endicott Falls 4-3 in 2OT to UNE in CCC Championship

    BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott field hockey team traveled to the University of New England on Saturday afternoon for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship. The Gulls tallied two late goals in the final ten minutes of regulation to force an overtime period with a 3-3 score. In the final minutes of the second overtime the Nor’easters tallied the title game winner off a penalty stroke goal to secure the title. Endicott ends their season after a hard fought effort at 16-5 while UNE moves on to the NCAA Tournament at 16-6.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released the third week of regional rankings for Division III field hockey. Sitting at 16-4 overall the Endicott field hockey remains at the #3 slot of six total teams. Voting for the regional rankings is comprised of selected coaches in each region.
  • Two Late Goals Lift Gulls to 2-1 Victory Over Gordon; Endicott Advances to Third CCC Title Game in Four Years

    WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team traveled to Gordon on Wednesday evening for the 2014 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals. After trailing for most of the game the Blue and Green tallied two goals in the final 11 minutes of regulation to lift to a 2-1 victory. With the win the Gulls will advance to the CCC Championship match which is slated for Saturday, November 8th at the University of New England at 1:00 p.m.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Commissioner’s Office announced the 2014 Field Hockey All-Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon. Endicott saw two major award winners and a total of six players to receive recognition from coaches in the league. Senior Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) took home the Offensive Player of the Year award while sophomore Cheka Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.) was tabbed as the 2014 Rookie of the Year.
  • Layo Claims First Rookie of the Week Nod

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) released their weekly awards on Sunday evening and Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.) of the field hockey team earned her first Rookie of the Week nod. Endicott wrapped up their regular season over the weekend and finished at 15-4 (9-3) as they head into the 2014 CCC Field Hockey Tournament as the #4 seed. The Gulls will travel to cross-town rival, #3 Gordon on Wednesday, November 5th for the semifinals slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.
  • Gulls Edged by Gordon 2-1 in Season Finale

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team hosted cross-town rival, Gordon on Saturday morning for a regular season finale and senior day. Gordon was able to earn two goals in the first half and keep the Gulls scoreless in the second to lift to a 2-1 victory. Endicott falls to 15-4 (9-3 CCC) while the Fighting Scots improve to 12-8 (9-3 CCC).

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team will compete in the 2014 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament as the #3 seed as it was announced by league commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Saturday evening. With the regular season conference schedule in the books, the Gulls will enter their CCC Semifinal match on Wednesday, November 5th at #2 Gordon (12-8, 9-3 CCC), time in TBD.

With a six point effort by junior Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) the Gulls soared to a 6-1 victory. Endicott improves to 15-3 (9-2 CCC) while the Bison fall to 3-14 (1-10 CCC).

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team traveled to Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) showdown. After being tied 1-1 at the half, five different Gulls scored goals to help lift Endicott to a 7-1 victory. Endicott improves to 14-3 (8-2 CCC) while the Seahawks fall to 11-6 (4-6 CCC).

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Following a stellar performance between the pipes last week, sophomore Checka Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.) has captured this week’s Corvias Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Defensive Player of the Week honors. Ventura most recently was also named this week’s Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Endicott falls to 13-3 (7-2 CCC) while UNE improves to 11-5 (9-1 CCC).

Five different Gulls scored today to help soar to a 6-1 victory while senior Emily Sawchuck became the new record leader in all-time career assists. Endicott improves to 13-2 (7-1 CCC) while the Golden Bears fall to 4-10 (1-7 CCC). Today the field hockey team Played for a Cure in their Think Pink game to honor breast cancer awareness month.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team hosted non-conference opponent Husson on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) tallied three goals to help lift the Gulls to a 4-1 victory as she broke the all-time career scoring record. Endicott improves to 12-2 (6-1) while the Eagles fall to 5-7 (3-0 NAC). With the victory Head Coach Jodi Cipolla also earned a career milestone as she notched her 100th win.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team hosted Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon. Seven different Gulls tallied points while senior Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) recorded two goals and an assist to tie the programs all-time goals and assist record. Endicott soared to a 6-1 victory over the Hawks in the conference matchup. The Gulls improve to 11-2 (6-1 CCC) while the Hawks fall to 7-7 (3-4 CCC).

    WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team traveled to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent, Gordon on Saturday afternoon. Despite a second half surge the Fight Scots lifted to a 3-2 double overtime victory to hand the Gulls their second loss of the season. With her three point effort, senior Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) snapped the career point’s record with a total of 129. Endicott falls to 10-2 (5-1 CCC) while the Fighting Scots improve to 6-6 (4-2 CCC).

    DUDLEY, Mass. – After going 9-0 in the month of September, the Endicott field hockey team continued their unbeaten streak into October by defeating CCC rival Nichols 3-1 to win their 10th game in-a-row. Senior forward Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine), with two goals against the Bison on Wednesday night, inched closer to both the all-time scoring and points record while as a team the Blue and Green controlled nearly every facet of the game.
