CCC BASEBALL WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott baseball student-athletes Michael DeDonato (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Joseph Oriola (Pembroke, Mass.) have claimed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league earlier today. DeDonato was named the CCC Player of the Week, while Oriola collected CCC Pitcher of the Week honors.

In a 2-2 week for the Gulls, DeDonato posted a .444/.474/.722 slash line to go along with six runs, eight hits, two doubles, one home run, eight RBI, a walk, and two stolen bases on a pair of attempts. DeDonato led the Gulls in runs, hits, doubles, homers, and RBI on the week was the difference in their 7-4 win over Wesleyan (Conn.) to cap the week as the senior second baseman crushed a grand slam in the fourth inning to give Endicott a 7-0 lead, at the time.

Meanwhile, in his only start on the week, Oriola led Endicott to a 12-4 win over Bates on six innings pitched, four hits, one run (unearned), four walks, and a career-high seven strikeouts. So far this season, Oriola is 1-1 overall, sports a 0.82 earned run average (ERA) and 14 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched (two appearances, both starts).
