Three Gulls Named To Collegiate Baseball Newspaper D3 Players To Watch List

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott baseball student-athletes Will Bryant (Cumberland, Maine), Michael DeDonato (Chelmsford, Mass.), and Kevin Gould (Rollinsford, N.H.) have all been named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division III Players to Watch List. 

The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division III Players to Watch list is chosen by all NCAA Division III coaches from across the country and compiled by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. 

WILL BRYANT | RHP | CUMBERLAND, MAINE 

In 2017, Bryant compiled seven saves for the Gulls over 21 1/3 innings pitched, alongside a 1.27 earned run average, and 18 strikeouts (7.59 K/9). Bryant also finished the year atop the leaderboard in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) in saves and No. 21 in all of NCAA Division III. For his efforts last season, Bryant was named to the D3baseball.com All-New England Second Team, and the CCC All-Conference First Team (both first career honors). 

This is Bryant's first career Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Player to Watch honor. 

MICHAEL DEDONATO | INF/OF | CHELMSFORD, MASS. 

DeDonato slashed .310/.362/.424 in 178 plate appearances last season for Endicott. DeDonato also scored 39 runs, and compiled 49 hits (8 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR), 29 RBI, 11 walks, 19 stolen bases, one sacrifice bunt, and four sacrifice flies. 

Defensively, DeDonato started all 44 games on the schedule at second base for the Gulls and had 75 putouts, 102 assists, and a .967 fielding percentage. Additionally, DeDonato boasted 13 multi-hit games (6 two-hit, 6 three-hit, 1 four-hit), and eight multi-RBI contests (5 two RBI, 2 three RBI, 1 four RBI). For his efforts, DeDonato picked up CCC All-Conference Second Team accolades and CCC Academic All-Conference honors. 

DeDonato is now a two-time Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Player to Watch award winner. 

KEVIN GOULD | RHP | ROLLINSFORD, N.H. 

The 2017 The CCC Pitcher of the Year, Gould's impressive second-year campaign included a 6-1 record, two complete games, one shutout, 53 innings pitched, 45 strikeouts and only seven walks, 7.64 strikeouts per game, and a 2.38 ERA. Gould finished 10th in the conference in strikeouts, seventh in strikeouts per game (7.64), and sixth in ERA. Nationally, Gould is No. 21 in walks plus hits per innings pitched (WHIP) at 0.96, No. 34 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.43), No. 46 in walks allowed per nine innings (1.19), and No. 99 in ERA. 

This is Gould's first career Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Player to Watch honor. 

YEAR IN REVIEW 

As a team, Endicott posted a 25-19 record overall, an 11-5 conference mark, and advanced to the CCC Championship for the second year in a row. Since 2010, the Gulls also have registered 25 wins or more, a span of eight straight seasons.
