WENHAM, MA - The Endicott women's tennis team fell to rivals Gordon College in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday, as the Fighting Scots handed the Gulls a 6-3 loss.

The match was tied at 2-2 after the first four singles matches as CCC co-Player of the Week Nicole Breting (Woonsocket, RI/Mount St. Charles) picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win a second singles and Lori Wardner (Wrentham, MA/King Philip Regional) won at fourth singles, 6-0 and 6-3.

Gordon took the final two singles matches and would clinch the win after Diana Anderson (Sandwich, MA) and Jen Schneider (Sayville, NY) rallied from four games down to win at first doubles. Breting and Brianne Cogan (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga) continued their winning was at second doubles but it would not be enough as the Fighting Scots would go on to the 6-3 win advancing to the CCC Semifinals.

The Gulls finished their regular season with an overall record of 8-5 and a 5-4 record in the CCC, giving the Gulls the fifth seed in the conference tournament. Breting has been a leader for the Gulls as she went 12-1 in singles play and 11-1 in doubles play. Breting's only loses came in EC's first match against defending CCC Champions Salve Regina.
