Beverly, MA- The Endicott Women's Tennis team defeated Curry College, 7-2, in a CCC quarterfinal match-up on Saturday. The Gulls will host Gordon College on Tuesday, Oct. 28 (1pm start) in the semi-finals. "It should be a terrific match," said Coach Mark Herlihy. "We beat Gordon, 5-4, during the regular season in a match that could have gone either way. We expect another close one on Tuesday. However, I think if we play the way we're capable of playing, we can beat them again."

Against Curry, the squad's depth was apparent as the Gulls lost at both 1st singles and 1st doubles, but won every other match. Melissa Marrone posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at 2nd singles, Lauren Gibbons prevailed 6-4, 6-3 at 3rd singles, Tessy Garcia won 6-1, 6-1 in the 4th spot, and Carli Conners won 6-1, 6-0 at 5th singles. Marrone and Garcia teamed up to win at 2nd doubles by a score of 8-3. Curry defaulted the 6th singles and 3rd doubles matches.
