IWLCA WOMEN'S LACROSSE DIVISION III ALL-REGION RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team saw two student-athletes named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Pilgrim Region Second Team, as announced by the association.
Junior goalkeeper Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) and sophomore attack Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.) were placed on the All-Pilgrim Region Second Team for their efforts this season. Both student-athletes were also previously named to the All-CCC First Team earlier in the season as well.
Across all eight regions, 256 student-athletes were honored in Division III on one of the All-Region teams. These student-athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced in June.
ALL-PILGRIM REGION SECOND TEAM
Bella Rino | Jr. | GK | Northborough, Mass.
This is Rino's second All-Pilgrim Region honor as she was named to the All-Pilgrim Region First Team in 2017. During the 2018 season, Rino went 14-3 in net with 17 starts. She finished the season ranked seventh nationally in save percentage (56.4) and tenth in goals against average (6.85). Rino was an instrumental part of a strong Endicott defense that allowed just 136 goals (27th in the nation). She made a total of 115 saves in 780 minutes played and recorded an 82.4 win percentage.
Jennifer Lacroix | So. | Attack | Wrentham, Mass.
Lacroix earned her first All-Pilgrim Region nod after an impressive sophomore season. She led the team in goals (70) and points (87) and also recorded 17 assists on the year. Lacroix's 70 goals rank 28th in the nation and she is also 24th nationally in free position percentage (.680). Lacroix also jumped ahead in several of the Endicott single-season records as she is tied first in game-winning goals (6), second in goals (70), and fourth in points (87).
SEASON IN REVIEW
The Gulls finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 14-4 and a perfect 8-0 conference mark. Endicott captured the CCC Championship with an 11-9 victory over Roger Williams to advance to the NCAA DIII Tournament where the Gulls eventually fell to No. 16 William Smith in the first round.
