Gulls Down Hawks, 14-9

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Endicott women's lacrosse team traveled to Roger Williams on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 14-9 victory. 

Endicott got on the board first with a goal from Meghan Dutchyshyn (Cheshire, Conn.) before the Hawks tied it up at 1-1. The Gulls then scored four goals before Roger Williams answered back with five of its own to take a slim one-goal lead. Endicott, however, came back to take a 7-6 lead at the half. 

Both teams continued to battle in the second half but the Gulls were able to hold Roger Williams to just three goals while adding seven tallies of their own to secure the 14-9 win. 

Alex Fitzgerald (Guilford, Conn.) led the Gulls with four goals and two assists. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) got the start in net and improved to 7-2 on the season. She recorded 12 saves during the game. 
  • Ali Campbell (Lakeville, Mass.) and Dutchyshyn both added three goals, while Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.) had two tallies and Jennifer Lacroix (Wrentham, Mass.) and Erin McCarthy (Old Lyme, Conn.) each scored once.
  • Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.) compiled a team-high nine draw controls.
  • Leading the Gulls in caused turnovers was Olivia Larson (Cheshire, Conn.) with three.
  • Endicott held a slight 26-25 shot advantage.

FOR THE FOES

  • Lydia Nelson (Center Moriches, N.Y.) made four saves and shifted to 7-3 on the season after getting the start in net. Addie Di Scipio came in during the second half and recorded three saves. 
  • Devon Sarazin (Falmouth, Maine) and Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.) each tallied three goals. Carly Martin (Scituate, Mass.) added two goals, while Shayne Rivard (Easton, Conn.) had one.
  • Emily Stoeppel (Brookfield, Conn.) contributed four ground balls and four draw controls. 
  • Stoeppel and Paige Byrne (Clifton Park, N.Y.) each had a team-high three caused turnovers. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (7-3, 3-0 CCC) will host Western New England on Saturday, April 7 at 4 p.m. Roger Williams (7-3, 2-1 CCC) hosts the University of New England at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
