Colby Sawyer Breaks the Gulls Conference Streak

April 7, 2004

Beverly, MA - Colby Sawyer came out scoring against the Gulls, taking an early 3-1 lead in the opening minutes of the first half Tuesday night at Endicott's stadium. By the half, the Gulls had taken over the lead with a goal by Christine Wilmott (Jr/Barre, VT) making it 7-6.

The Gulls led by as many as four goals in the second half before Colby Sawyer went on a spree scoring the last five goals of the game.

Gulls attackers had two goals called back, including the tying point that would have sent them into overtime. Jess Blair (Jr/Middlebury, VT) and Wilmott each had three goals in the match, while Susie Neikirk (So/Scotia, NY) had a hand in four of the Gulls points with two goals and two assists.

This loss drops the Gulls to 3-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, 4-4 overall. The Gulls travel to Keene State on Thursday for a nonconference match-up against the Owls at 4:00 pm.
