Men's Tennis Shuts Out Salem State in North Shore Matchup

SALEM, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team took down North Shore rival Salem State 9-0 on Thursday afternoon as the Gulls swept through doubles action with all three duos winning 8-1 before the singles lineup swept through their Vikings opposition. Endicott improved to 4-3 overall heading into their CCC schedule opener on Saturday, March 28th at Roger Williams.

Reigning CCC Rookie of the Week freshman Chris Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) teamed up with junior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) at the top doubles position and won 8-1 before winning the #1 singles flight in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Dolph didn't give up a game in his #3 singles match up by winning 6-0, 6-0.

At the #2 doubles match, senior Justin Warshavsky (East Hartford, Conn.) and junior Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) took down their opposition 8-1 before both players cruised their singles play. Pierce, at the #2 position, won 6-2, 6-1 and Warshavsky won his eight-game pro set 8-1 in the fifth slot.

Finally, the freshman duo of Matthew Doherty (Plymouth, Mass.) and Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.) teamed up to beat their #3 doubles opponents 8-1. Doherty won his #6 singles match 8-0.

Salem State fell to 0-5 on the year and will look to get their first win on Saturday with a home match against Little East foe UMass Dartmouth
