Men’s Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches 2018-19 Team Academic Award

2018-19 UNITED SOCCER COACHES COLLEGE TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the third straight season, the Endicott men's soccer team has received the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, as announced by the organization last week.

The United Soccer Coaches organization annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.

A total of 989 soccer teams (345 men, 644 women) posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year. Of that total, 255 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including Endicott.

Meanwhile, the Endicott men's soccer program has earned the distinction five times overall (2012, 2014, 2016-2018) since the award was instituted in 1996.

Last fall, the Gulls also placed 11 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference list. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status.

Endicott's 2018 season featured a 10-6-2 overall record and a 6-0-2 mark in CCC play. The Gulls also advanced to the CCC Semifinals for the fifth straight year but fell to Roger Williams, 1-0, in overtime, ending their chances at defending their 2017 CCC Championship crown.
