Three Gulls Earn All-CCC Honors for 2013

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) named the 2013 All-CCC Men's Soccer Team. The Endicott men's soccer team saw three members earn a spot on the 2013 All-CCC Team as it was announced today by league commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

Juniors Abdulla Al Khalifa (Riffa, Bahrain), and Jed Magnusson (Kingston, N.H.) earned a spot on the All-CCC Second Team, while freshman standout Edwin Demoya (Salem, Mass.) earned a place on the All-CCC Honorable Mention Team.

Al Khalifa leads the 2013 squad in goals with seven, three being game winning goals, and has given four assists for a total of18 points in the regular season. His best performance thus season came on October 9th against Saint Joseph's (Me.) when he tallied two goals and one assist in the 3-0 victory, having a hand in all three goals. In the last eight contests for the Blue and Green Al Khalifa has tallied six goals.

Magnusson has been a force in the backfield being the heart and the voice of the backline. The junior has been a key factor in the successes of the team this year. Jed Magnusson and his defensive unit have only allowed eight goals in conference play in the regular season for a .88 goals against average, which ranks them in the top five.

Demoya has been a contributor to the Gulls offensive line coming in behind Al Khalifa with four goals, two of them being game winners, and three assists for a total of 11 points in his freshman campaign. He has earned two weekly honors with the CCC this season as Rookie of the Week. His best efforts game in September against Keene State when he tallied two goals including the game winning goals in the 3-2 victory.

Endicott finished the regular season at 9-9 (4-5 CCC) and will head into the CCC Tournament as the #6 seed. The Gulls will travel to #3 Nichols (11-1-5, 6-1-2 CCC) on Saturday, November 2nd for the quarterfinal round at 1:00 p.m. The winner will move on to face the winner of #7 Curry (7-7, 2-4-3 CCC) at #2 Western New England (12-4-3, 6-1-1 CCC) in the CCC Semifinals on Tuesday, November 5th
