SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Junior Abdulla Al Khalifa (Riffa, Bahrain) and sophomore goalkeeper Austin Peluso (Farmington, Conn.) earned weekly honors with the CCC for their efforts against conference opponent, Curry this past weekend. Al Khalifa has earned his first Offensive Player of the Week nod while Peluso is earning his first conference honor as Defensive Player of the Week.
Al Khalifa tallied his fifth goal on the season, for a team high and the 2-0 win against Curry this past weekend. He scored in the 60th minute to lift the Blue and Green to a 1-0 lead, which eventually fired up junior Connor Gibbs (Westborough, Mass.) to tally the insurance goal five minutes later for the 2-0 finish. Al Khalifa has now scored four goals in the last four contests for Endicott.
Peluso was fierce between the posts for the Gulls in the shutout win against the Colonels. He posted seven saves against a Curry team that has scored 11 goals at home with a 21.4 shots per game average. The sophomore recorded his fifth shutout of the season, and also has now earned four shutouts in the last six contests for the Blue and Green.
Endicott will pick back up on Wednesday, October 23rd when they host CCC opponent Nichols at 4:00 p.m.
