SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Edwin Demoya (Salem, Mass.) earned weekly honors with the CCC claiming his second Rookie of the Week award. The Gulls went 1-1 on the week moving them to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Demoya tallied his second game-winning goal on the season against CCC opponent Wentworth. After 90 minutes of scoreless action it only took Demoya 25 seconds into overtime to claim the victory for the Blue and Green. The goal came after sophomore Sebastian Rozo (Stamford, Conn.) blasted a pass to Demoya from the 50, Demoya then dribbled a bit up the left side and found himself ahead of the defense with only the goalkeeper standing in his way. He went for the kick and drilled it into the top left post to leave the Gulls victorious.
The Blue and Green kick back into action tomorrow night as they host UMass Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m. The team will then play on Saturday October 5th in a homecoming match under the lights to play CCC opponent Western New England.
