BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College sophomore midfielder \#Sam Ozycz\# (Cheshire, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping lead the Gulls to a 1-1 record last week. The Blue and Green posted a 20-4 win over conference foe Wentworth before falling to the NESCAC’s Bowdoin College, 9-6, on Saturday.

Ozycz was a force on the defensive end in a pair of home games last week, grabbing 21 ground balls and winning 73% of his face-offs (33-of-45). Ozycz was dominant in a 20-4 conference win over Wentworth, scooping-up 17 ground balls and winning a remarkable 89% of his draws (23-of-26). As if that wasn’t enough, the sophomore also added a goal in the win. Ozycz had four ground balls and was 10-of-19 on face-offs in a tough 9-6 setback to Bowdoin.
