BEVERLY, Mass. — Five members of the Endicott men's golf team have earned Conference of New England (CNE) postseason honors.
Freshman Myles O'Quinn (Durham, N.H.) and head coach Tom Smith headlined the Gulls' award winners.
O'Quinn was named CNE Co-Rookie of the Year, while Smith garnered Coach of the Year honors.
MYLES O'QUINN | CNE CO-ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
O'Quinn is just the second conference Rookie of the Year award winner in program history.
The freshman finished in a three-way tie for third place at the CNE Championship among rookie qualifiers with a two-day score of +10 (75-75, 150).
He shares this year's Rookie of the Year award with Derek Johnson (Western New England) and Josh Peterson (Roger Williams).
TOM SMITH | CNE COACH OF THE YEAR
Meanwhile, Smith received his eighth conference Coach of the Year award since taking over the program in 2011.
Smith led Endicott to a No. 36 national ranking this fall (program record based on available data) and a runner-up finish at the CNE Championship.
The Gulls also claimed back-to-back victories at the Hamilton Invitational (10/5-6) and the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship (10/19-20).
Endicott dominated the 22-team field at the NEIGA Championship, shooting 7-under par to break an 89-year-old scoring record and capture their first-ever team title at the event.
CNE ALL-CONFERENCE
Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine), O'Quinn, and Will Pierce (Melrose, Mass.) garnered All-CNE First Team accolades for their performances at the CNE Championship.
Pierce led the trio with a runner-up performance at +8 (74-74, 148).
Baker and O'Quinn followed in a tie for third place along with two other golfers via two-day scores of 73-77 (+10, 150) and 75-75 (+10, 150), respectively.
Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) also ranked seventh overall (+11, 77-74, 151) at the conference championship to pick up All-CNE Second Team accolades.
CNE All-Conference honors are awarded to the top-12 finishers at the conference championship (first 4 1st team, next 4 second team, last 4 third team).
Along with his All-CNE First Team selection, Baker was named to the CNE Community Service Team.
The award replaced the Team Sportsmanship Award and highlights one student-athlete per institution who demonstrates a commitment to their community.
