MARBLEHEAD, Mass. – The No. 36 Endicott men's golf team finished second overall at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Wednesday evening at the Tedesco CC (par 70 – 6,448 yards).
Roger Williams (+38, 304-294, 598) secured its second straight conference championship in comeback fashion on day two, shooting 10-under to erase a third place showing in the first round.
Endicott (+39, 299-300, 599), Gordon (+54), Hartford (+57), Western New England (+65), Suffolk (+75), Nichols (+85), Wentworth (+91), and the University of New England (+114) made up the remainder of the leaderboard.
Individually, the Gulls saw Will Pierce (Melrose, Mass.), Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine), and Myles O'Quinn (Durham, N.H.) all finish in the top-5.
Pierce led the trio with a runner-up performance at +8 (74-74, 148).
Baker and O'Quinn followed in a tie for third place along with two other golfers via two-day scores of 73-77 (+10, 150) and 75-75 (+10, 150), respectively.
Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) also ranked seventh overall (+11, 77-74, 151), while Hadyn Kornusky (Topsfield, Mass.) was 25th overall (+20, 78-82, 160).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- The Gulls led the tournament in par 4s (+42) and birdies (21).
- Baker and O'Quinn finished in a three-way tie for most birdies (6).
- The average score for the tournament on day one was 80.64 and day two was 79.20.
- Hole 16 (par 4) was the toughest in the tournament as the field made one birdie, 30 pars, 32 bogeys, and 27 double-bogeys+.
