Endicott captures 2009 TCCC Men?s Golf Championship
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s golf team captured the 2009 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship on Thursday afternoon at the Essex Country Club in Manchester, Mass. The Gulls carded a team score of 309 to hold off second place finishers Nichols College (318) and a third place showing from Western New England College with a score of 330.

The Gulls captured the top spot with its overall score of 309 as its four top scorers all finished inside the top-10. \#Andrew LaRocque\# (Averill Park, N.Y.) led the Gulls with a score of 76 (41-35) for a second place finish while \#Drew Sullivan\# (Katonah, N.Y.) was only one stroke behind for a third place finish with his score of 77 (36-41). Endicott’s \#Peter Weatherby\# (Portsmouth, R.I.) and \#Daniel Ryan\# (Plymouth, Mass.) rounded out the top scores for Endicott as the duo posted matching scores of 78.

Nichols came in second place with a team score of 318, led by Pat Pio (Somers, Conn.) who took home Medalist honors as the senior carded an even-par 70 (36-34). Nicholas Deni (Enfield, Conn.) placed fourth with a score of 78 while Josh Paulhus (Sutton, Mass.) carded an 83 and finished tied for 13th for the Bison.

The 2008 TCCC Champions, Western New England College, rounded out the top three team finishes with a total of 330. Julian Partyka (West Springfield, Mass.) and Justin Racine (Granby, Mass.) both placed in the top-10 with scores of 79 and 81, respectively.

Anna Maria finished just outside the top three with a team score of 338, led by Jeremy Ross’ (Holden, Mass.) 81, good for a 10th place finish. UNE’s Griffin Andrews (Rye, N.H.) finished tied for fourth with his score of 78 and led the Nor’Easters to their fifth place finish with a total score of 339. Wentworth finished in sixth place with a score of 349 and was led by Phil Baker (Braintree, Mass.) who finished tied for 15th with an 84.
