McDevitt Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team Honors

COSIDA ALL-DISTRICT RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's basketball senior Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) has received CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team honors, as announced by the organization last week.

McDevitt will now appear on the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team, which will be voted on by Sports Information Directors (SIDs) across the country in late May.

McDevitt is the second student-athlete in program history to claim CoSIDA Academic All-District® accolades joining Max Motroni '17 (West Warwick, R.I.) on the list who earned similar honors in 2015-16 and 2016-17. Additionally, McDevitt was the only student-athlete from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) chosen to this year's CoSIDA Academic All-District® NCAA Division III District 1 Team (six chosen in total).

Academically, McDevitt currently sports a 3.62 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a finance major at Endicott.

McDevitt's educational coursework during his academic career has included financial planning for clients, investments, financial modeling, corporate finance, managerial accounting, financial accounting, personal finance, business computers, statistics, and international finance.

He also will be a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference selection once this year's honorees for the award are announced later this spring by the league office.

Meanwhile, his internships have included Baystate Financial (semester-long), State Farm, and the Val Halla Golf Course (management intern). During his time at State Farm, McDevitt analyzed statistical data for their marketing budget, aided the sales team in their administrative processes, and managed lead-generating activities.

McDevitt also has been heavily involved in community service with participation in the Lone Gull 10k, the College's 911 Memorial Day of Remembrance and Accepted Students Day, Team IMPACT, and the Peabody Food Shelter.

Athletically, McDevitt is a four-year member of the Leaders of the Endicott Athletics Department (EC L.E.A.D.) and a two-time CCC All-Conference selection (2019-20 first team; 2018-19 second team).

In 89 career games (87 starts, 61-28 overall record), McDevitt has averaged 13.3 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists to go along with a 47.5 field goal percentage, a 44.8 three-point field goal percentage, and an 81.0 free throw percentage.

He currently ranks No. 12 all-time in scoring (1,187 points), No. 8 in points per game, and No. 1 in three-point field goal percentage.
