Men's Basketball Upends Curry, 86-62

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team defeated Curry College, 86-62, on Saturday afternoon at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Today's game also served as Senior Day for Griffin Curtis (Salem, N.H.), Louis Ellis (Lynnfield, Mass.), Nick Maselek (Sutton, Mass.), and Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine). All four student-athletes were honored for their contributions towards the men's basketball program and the Endicott community. 

As for the game, the Gulls opened up the contest on a 23-4 run and never looked back. McDevitt and Curtis orchestrated the scoring outburst with eight and six points, respectively.

The duo ended up finishing the contest with a combined 27 points (19 - McDevitt | 8 - Curtis), while Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) and Billy Arseneault (Lynnfield, Mass.) contributed 16 and 14 points of their own to fuel the runaway win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls improved to 29-13 all-time against Curry.
  • Endicott has won its last 16 meetings in a row versus the Colonels.
  • The Gulls dominated the paint, 54-22, and also outscored Curry 23-7 in transition.
  • Endicott led for 38:40 in today's matchup.
  • As a team, the Gulls shot a season 49.3% from the field (36-73 FG, 9-25 3PT, 5-9 FT).
  • Romeo Sowah (Vernon, Conn.) scored his first career collegiate points in today's victory (4 PTS, 2-3 FG, 0-1 3PT, 0-0 FT).
