CCC FOOTBALL WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott football student-athletes Riley Shanley (Simsbury, Conn.) and Allen Gibson (Seymour, Conn.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today. Shanley was named the CCC Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Gibson garnered CCC Football Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

In Endicott's 41-38 win over Western New England on Saturday, Shanley picked a good game to have one of the best statistical games of his career. He caught eight passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns (all career-highs) and a two-point conversion. Shanley was a major factor on the Gulls' game-winning drive as he caught a 33-yard pass over two defenders on 4th-and-14 to keep the drive alive. He then caught the seven-yard game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds remaining in the game. The win ended WNE's 25-game conference win streak.

Meanwhile, Gibson recorded a team-best eight tackles (four solo, four assisted) against Western New England. He also helped contribute to the Gulls' comeback effort by recovering a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown (first career). That score cut into the Golden Bear's 31-26 advantage at the time.
