Equestrian Earns High Point Team Honors At Stonehill Show

WALPOLE, Mass. — The Endicott equestrian team placed first overall out of eight programs at the Stonehill Show on Saturday evening at Mor Linn Farm.

The Gulls won the show by seven points today, putting them in a tie for first place on the regional leaderboard with Stonehill.

Sophia Channell (Vergennes, Vt.) highlighted Endicott with High Point Rider accolades.

Channell competed in a flat ride-off to earn High Point Rider honors following her first place performances in intermediate flat and open fences.

TOP QUOTE

"I am immensely proud of our riders every day, but today especially. Not only were we the High Point Team, but we won by seven points, which currently puts us tied at the top of the regional leaderboard. What's more, is that we do not have a full card currently, and only have riders in seven of the eight classes that count toward point finals for each show day. So we won with one fewer pointed rider than the schools who finished just behind us," Endicott equestrian head coach Megan Martin. "Our riders have been working incredibly hard on getting stronger and more confident, and today that really shined through! Now we are looking forward to our home show next Saturday."
