After 4 weeks of training, Endicott Crew officially kicked off its quest for 2011 NECRL titles on Sunday, Oct 3. With family and friends on hand for Endicott's homecoming and parent’s weekend, the Gulls competed well, finishing strong across the board.
The men's 4+ kicked off the day with finishing 4th of 14, just
behind fellow league schools from Brandeis and Wentworth. Not to be
outdone, the women's novice 4+ crossed the line with the 4th
fastest time in their 7 crew field.
The varsity women were up next, rowing a strong final middle to
finish 14 of 26 in a tough field with the 2nd best time of the 4
NECRL crews in the event. To round off the day, the
women's novice 8+ battled off equipment issues and the fatigue of a
second race on the day to finish 7th of 9 crews.
