BEVERLY, Mass.- The New England Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (NEWVA) has released their 2015 NEWVA Annual Awards that includes the NEWVA Senior Classic award winners, and Endicott's Alleigh VandeMerkt (Riverside, Ill.) has been selected to participate in the event.
A four year starter for the Endicott women's volleyball team, VandeMerkt was named All-CCC Second Team for the third straight season. The graduate student, who is working towards her M.B.A. after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance in three years, was named CCC Senior Scholar Athlete while guiding the Gulls to their first ECAC DIII New England title. VandeMerkt surpassed the 4,000 career assist mark during the 2015 campaign and ended her career with 4,062 which ranks second in Endicott history.
The 2015 NEWVA Senior Classic, which is sponsored by adidas and The Graphic Edge, will take place on Sunday, December 6th starting at 10:00 a.m. at UMass Boston. The event begins with a skills competition and is followed by the all-star match.
