Final Stats

NEWPORT, R.I. - Only a tie could keep these two teams from seeing each other in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's soccer tournament. In the final regular season contest, Salve Regina University and Endicott College each scored a second half goal and finished in a 1-1 deadlock after 110 minutes.

The final score gave Endicott (8-8-1; 7-3-1 CCC) the third seed in the conference tournament while Salve Regina (8-7-5; 5-3-3 CCC), playing their eighth overtime game of the season, earned the fifth seed. The Gulls will host No. 6 Colby-Sawyer on Saturday (3:00 pm) while the Seahawks will travel to No. 5 Wentworth.

Kyle Austin (Keene, NH/Keene) converted a pass from Josh Lewis (Groveland, MA/Pentucket) to put Endicott up 1-0. The Seahawks answered with a game-tying goal from Jesse Cavallaro (Plainville, CT) with an assist for Mike Gregory (Brewster, NY).

Gulls' midfielder Pirapong Sirikietsoong (Bankok, Thailand) was issued a red card late in the second half, but Salve Regina could not capitalize on the extra-man opportunity in the last 30 minutes.
