BEVERLY, MA -- Dan Hester (Winsted, CT/The Gilbert School) scored with just under 10 minutes to play in regulation as Wentworth snuck past Endicott College, 2-1, Saturday at Endicott Stadium.
Hester chipped a shot over the head of Gulls' keeper Gregory Swander (Windham, ME/Windham), who was trying to get back in goal after making a clearing attempt.
After Wentworth's Dan Marra (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) opened the scoring in the 62nd minute Kyle Austin (Keene, NH/Keene) picked up the game-tying goal for Endicott. Kyle Schmutte (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) and Michael Denuzzo (Guilford, CT/Guilford) assisted on Austin's goal from about 40 yards out.
Brad Loew (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) turned away nine shots, including five in the second half to secure WIT's victory.
The Gulls host Eastern Nazarene Wednesday (4:00 P.M.).
