Fournier, Sturgess, Pagluiso Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

CCC MEN'S LACROSSE WEEKLY AWARDS RELEASE 

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's lacrosse student-athletes Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.)Nick Sturgess (Hampstead, N.H.), and Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.) swept the CCC weekly awards, the league office announced earlier today. 

Fournier was named Defensive Player of the Week, Sturgess earned Specialist of the Week, while Pagluiso secured both Player of the Week, and Rookie of the Week. 

Pagluiso was a major contributor to the Gulls' CCC Tournament Championship run as he complied eight points in two contests. In the CCC Semifinal against Roger Williams, he tallied one goal, while dishing out four assists. He followed that up with two goals and an assist in the Championship game against Western New England.

Fournier, had a pair of 10-save performances during Endicott's CCC Tournament Championship run, while allowing just 12 goals. In the semifinal game against Roger Williams, he surrendered eight goals giving him a 55.6 save percentage for the day. In the Championship game, he allowed only four of Western New England's shots past him for a 71.4 save percentage. The four goals he allowed in the title game is tied for the fewest allowed in a CCC Championship game. For the week, he posted a 6.00 goals-against average and a 62.5 save percentage. 

Meanwhile, Sturgess was a defensive standout for the Gulls during the CCC postseason. He notched seven ground balls and caused five turnovers in the two CCC Tournament contests. Three of the ground balls and three of his caused turnovers came in the CCC Semifinal against Roger Williams. He then collected four ground balls and caused two turnovers in the Championship against Western New England.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (12-2) will travel to Stevenson to take on Christopher Newport in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament, on Saturday, May 15 at 3 PM.
