BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's lacrosse student-athletes Sam DesMarais (York, Maine), Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), and Zach Hojnowski (Somers, Conn.) have all received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.
DesMarais was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while Pagluiso and Hojnowski claimed Rookie of the Week and Specialist of the Week honors, respectively.
Last Saturday against Salve Regina, DesMarais scored four goals to lead the team in Endicott's 17-12 victory over the Seahawks. Two of his goals came in the second quarter, both breaking deadlocks. He added a man-up score in the final quarter to cap off the Gulls' scoring for the day. DesMarais took 10 shots in total, putting seven of them on-goal.
Meanwhile, Pagluiso recorded three points to aid the Gulls in the win. All of his points came in the second quarter as the first-year scored a goal and handed out two helpers. Pagluiso also collected two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Hojnowski rounded out the trio with a stellar day at the faceoff X as the freshman went 20-for-32 (62.5 percent) on his faceoff tries with the 20 wins being a career-high. He also had a career-high in ground balls, collecting nine.
