CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: Endicott, Western New England Continue Storied Rivalry For League Title

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the eighth straight year, Endicott and Western New England will duke it out in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Lacrosse Championship. Here's a preview of Saturday's 1 PM matchup at Hempstead Stadium.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Golden Bears hold a 5-2 advantage over the Gulls in their last seven CCC Championship meetings, and a 7-3 record versus Endicott overall in the league title game.
  • Saturday's matchup will feature the No. 1 (Western New England, 16.91 GPG, 27th nationally) and No. 2 (Endicott, 15.15 GPG, 46th nationally) scoring offenses in the CCC.
  • Endicott and Western New England ranked 30th (114) and 34th (109) overall in assists among all NCAA Division III programs, respectively.
  • Defensively, Western New England and Endicott are nearly equal in scoring defense nationally at No. 26 (7.36 GAA) and No. 34 (7.69) this season.
  • The Gulls defeated the Golden Bears, 9-8, on the road in their only meeting this year.

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of Saturday's CCC Championship game will earn the conference's automatic bid into the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. First round action for the NCAA Tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 15.
