SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -  Endicott junior faceoff man Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) won 32-of-42 attempts against CCC opponent Curry and non-conference foe Wesleyan over the past week and was honored by the conference by being named the CCC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Gulls went 1-1 on the week, defeating Curry by a convincing score of 14-5 as Ozycz helped the Gulls maintained possession of the ball with 19-of-23 wins on the faceoff.  He followed up his performance with 12 faceoff wins against a tough Wesleyan squad that had beaten Amherst earlier in the week.

Ozycz scooped up 16 groundballs on the week, nine against Curry and seven against Wesleyan.

Ozycz now ranks 30th in the country in faceoff win percentage (0.617) and 25th in groundballs per game (7.33). 

Endicott next faces off against Southern Maine on Thursday, April 5th at 4:00 pm before hosting Wentworth in league action over the weekend.
