2012 ECAC DIII New England All-Star Selections

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Endicott sophomore defenseman Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) was named to the ECAC DIII New England All-Star Second Team after posting a team-high 39 groundballs with 75 groundballs in 2012.  

The award comes weeks after the Gulls captured the 2012 ECAC DIII New England Championship with a 15-9 win over the University of New England, their third ECAC Championship in program history.  

Merritt was a factor in the ECAC Tournament, causing two turnovers and scooping nine groundballs in two games.  He was previously named to the All-CCC First Team for being one of the top defenseman in the conference.  Merritt played and started in 19 of Endicott's 20 games this season.

Three of the four major awards out of the ECAC DIII New England All-Star selections went to representatives from the CCC as Offensive Player of the Year Patrick White (WNE), Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Harris (WNE) and Co-Rookie fo the Year Luke Aubrey (RWU) all collected hardware.
