Prescott, Burke, and Tordik sweep CCC Weekly honors
CCC Athletes of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –
After a 3-0 week in which the Endicott men’s lacrosse team defeated two CCC opponents and upset \#12 Springfield on the road, three of their star players claimed Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week conference accolades from the CCC.

Senior midfielder Connor Prescott (Norwalk, Conn.), this week’s CCC Offensive Player of the Week, turned in a career game last Monday evening in a 15-6 Endicott win over league foe the University of New England with five total points on four goals and an assist.  He tacked on another goal and assist in a 14-4 triumph over North Shore and CCC rival Gordon on Wednesday and over the weekend scored against nationally ranked Springfield as the Gulls went on to get the 9-7 upset on the road.  Prescott totaled eight points on the week and five groundballs.

The CCC Defensive Player of the Week, Gulls junior goalie Tom Burke (Sudbury, Mass.), was stellar between the pipes in a 3-0 week to move his regular season record to 4-3 overall.  In 156 minutes of play, he posted a 5.37 goals against average, made 21 saves with a .600 save percentage on the week.  Against UNE, Burke made four saves then stopped another eight shots against Gordon.  He had his biggest performance with nine saves while facing 16 shots in a tight win over \#12 Springfield.

Freshman attacker Joshua Tordik (Sayville, N.Y.) had a stick in nine goals this week en route to being named CCC Rookie of the Week.  Tordik netted seven goals, assisted on two more while scooping eight groundballs for the Gulls.  He posted a stellar .777 shots-on-goal percentage (7-of-9).  Tordik had his best effort against Gordon, tallying four goals and one assist with another two points against UNE two days earlier.  On Saturday versus Springfield, Tordik put in two critical goals to help push Endicott’s record above .500 for the first time this season.

Prescott, Burke, Tordik and the Gulls return to action on Wednesday, March 28th with a road conference game against Curry starting at 7:00 pm in Milton.
