MILTON, Mass. – Endicott men’s lacrosse won their fourth straight game including their third in-a-row over a CCC opponent following a 14-5 victory over Curry on the road.  The Gulls exploded for six goals in the third quarter and senior midfielder Brendan Eppley (Darien, Conn.) set a career-high with six points (four goals, one assist) as the Blue and Green improved to 5-3 (3-0 CCC).

Endicott held just a one-goal advantage at halftime despite three goals and one assist from Eppley, but the senior wasted no time in starting his team’s six-goal rally in the third quarter with two quick strikes at 13:37 and 13:16 early in the second half.

Goals by Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine), Jeremy Morgan (Lake Panamoka, N.Y.), Ryan Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) and Nick Togneri (Longmeadow, Mass.) followed and put the Gulls ahead for good as Endicott, now ranked \#16 in the country, continued their unbeaten season in conference play.

Endicott’s defense was strong in this game as Sutherland led all players with three caused turnovers but as a team, the Gulls were able to force 21 overall turnovers by the Colonels and despite earning nine extra-man opportunities, Curry was unable to score with the man-advantage.

Endicott was also effective in maintaining possession of the ball starting on face-offs as junior specialist Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) won 19-of-23 attempts.  Ozycz has won 61.6% (101-of-164) of his face-offs this season.  As a team, Endicott only suffered just 12 turnovers including only five in the second half.

After Curry’s senior midfielder Russell Lanham (Silver Spring, Md.) opened the scoring under two and a half minutes into the game to put the Colonels up 1-0, Eppley scored three of the next four goals to jump start the Gulls offense.

With the score tied 3-3 late in the second half, Erickson scored with just 50 seconds remaining to give Endicott the 4-3 lead going into the break.

After their six-goal outburst, CCC Rookie of the Week winners Joshua Tordik (Sayville, N.Y.) and Kyle Weber (West Hartford, Conn.) continued Endicott’s streak of nine unanswered goals by scoring the first two of the fourth quarter.  Goals by freshman Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) and sophomore Chris Murphy (Holden, Mass.) capped off the scoring for the Gulls in this game.

Gulls senior Connor Prescott (Norwalk, Conn.), this week’s CCC Player of the Week, dished out three assists in the game with Eppley, Pinciaro and sophomore Kevin Butler (Natick, Mass.) adding one apiece.

In net, junior goalie Tom Burke (Sudbury, Mass.) made seven saves in just over 55 minutes between the pipes.  He improved to 5-3 overall.

Endicott next travels to Wesleyan in Middletown, Connecticut on Saturday, March 31st for a 1:00 pm non-conference showdown.
