CCC Athletes of the Week (Week Ending April 26, 2015)

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Following his medalist honors at the CCC Championships at Beverly Golf and Tennis this past weekend, Endicott's Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) has been named CCC Golfer of the Week.  This is the fifth time that Teal has received the honor in the 2014-15 season and is the seventh time overall that an Endicott golfer has been named Golfer of the Week.  The Gulls finished second at the CCC Championship, losing to Western New England by one stroke to snap a string of three straight CCC titles.

Teal fired a first round 75 on Saturday which tied him with freshman Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) for the team lead and second overall in the tournament.  The Gulls held a two stroke lead after play wrapped up on day one.  With scores going up on day two, Teal led the Gulls and the tournament with a 72, to give him a two day total of 147 which earned him medalist honors by three strokes.  His 72 was the lowest round of the CCC Championship event as well.
