Palazzo and Teal Take Home Weekly Honors After Strong Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Following a week in which the team won their third tournament of the year and then placed in a tie for fifth at the ECAC New England DIII Championships, freshman Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) and Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) garnered weekly honors for their play.  The team is now off for two weeks as they ready for the NEIGA Championships to be held at The Captains Course in Bernardston, Maine from the 25th to the 27th.

Palazzo eared CCC Rookie of the Week honors after a week in which he tied for 17th and the USM Fall Classic and then tied for seventh at the ECAC New England DIII Championships.  His 17th place finish came via a two round total of 156 (75-81), while his seventh place finish came after a two round 157 (78-81).  His finish at the ECAC Championships tied him for the lowest score by a CCC golfer.  For the week, Palazzo's average round was a 78.25.

Teal earned Co-CCC Golfer of the Week following his second medalist honor of the year and a 34th place finish at the ECAC Championships.  The junior earned medalist honors at the USM Fall Classic, carding back-to-back rounds of 72, while lifting the Gulls to their third straight team title in as many events.  Teal also tied for 34th at the ECAC Championship as the Gulls tied for fifth place among 22 teams.
